Nice station
We have riding the rails from Galesburg, IL or Princeton, IL on the Southwest Chief to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once in family drawing room twice in Coach. The big Salon much much better than the small drawing room. The small one is like doing prison time. The big family one fabulous. All meals included your own porter. If you want to eat in. Definitely recommend the big family room. You see great American scenery. Easier than flying cheaper too !
Station in Galesburg is comfortable with helpful and nice people. Great dining at nearby restaurants, and car rental nearby.
I have been thru the Galesburg station a few times en route to Chicago. Now I am thinking of driving to Galesburg, parking my car, and hopping on the train there. Anyone had experience with long-term parking there? (Likely a week or more.) Any fees?
