New store is much bigger, with more selections and "feels" so much nicer than the previous store did. I like going there to see what's new and buy my favorite yogurt!
I shop here for almost all my groceries! EXCELLENT prices! FRIENDLY help! I find not just food and beverages here but also many non food items for a fraction of the prices of "big name" stores! They offer foods that are unavailable other places! AWESOME!! The check out ladies are EXTREMELY SWEET! They make you feel like family even if it's your first time there! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
The manager of the store in Galesburg has been very helpful when we're buying very large amounts for the food pantry. If we call ahead with what we need he makes sure they have what we need and has even packed everything so all we have to do is come pay for the order.
Do consider buying flowers here. They're lovely and last as long as flowers from places that charge a lot more.
I shop here quite often, not only for myself, but also for a food pantry. The prices are lower than most grocery stores and discount stores. The quality is almost very good. So far, I've only not liked one item - the Clancy's cheese curls. They had an odd taste. It's always interesting to see what they have in their non-food aisle. You just never know what they might have - everything from pajama pants to gas grills and tools!
Staff are friendly, the selection and layout familiar, and most importantly, the price is right for most things.
One of the nice things I find about Aldi's is the uniformity. When I lived in the Chicagoland area, they were much the same. I still have to resist the temptation to go shopping hungry there since they still have all the snack food in the first isle!
Good selection at really good prices. They run out of some things rather quickly though.
Sometimes they have rather long lines to check out, but I do think they've improved by opening another cash register when the lines get long.
